Art for SPIDER:Judgement Knight #1...

The Hunt 12x5.75 Gouache on Illustration Board

This is #3 in a series of 10 illustrations I painted (see 2 more illustrations on my website - HERE) for Moonstone Entertainment, Inc for the interior art of the 1st issue in the 1st ever on-going Spider series . . .

. . . scheduled to hit comic shops and book stores in July 2009.

"The Spider: the most violent and ruthless of all crime fighters…more just than the law, more dangerous than the underworld…hated, feared, and wanted by both. A cloaked, fanged, borderline crazy denizen of the dark force-feeding hard justice with a pair of ‘45’s! Senseless slaughter accompanies a new string of bold and audacious heists, and only the Spider can stop it…but at a price so steep, can even the Spider hope to pay it?" ~ popculturezoo.com

Story: CJ Henderson
Art: J. Anthony Kosar
Cover: Gary Carbon
Moonstone Books - 40pgs, b/w, $3.50
Release Date: July 2009

doesn't the spider have short hair?

Hey Rod,

Nope, the Spider has long strandy hair. Although there are several versions of him out there, this is the version the licensors and publishing company wanted.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great feedback!

Cool, good job... However I find it unfitting that you only credit Gary Carbon with the cover on your page when he did a lot more illustrations for the comic then just the cover.

I appreciate your concern, however, for this particular issue, Gary Carbon only did the cover artwork while I, J. Anthony Kosar, did the 10 interior illustrations. Also, all the other comic book sites say the same information with the same credits I have included (there is a link to popculturezoo.com in my blog entry).

What I think you are referring to is the 72 page softcover book "Spider Judgement Knight" (similar title I know) which is an adaptation of "The Devil's Paymaster!" and came out last month for $9.95. In that book, Carbon did indeed do the interior art as well as the cover.

The book I worked on is "The Spider: Judgement Knight #1" which is the first issue in the first ever on-going Spider series. The title on my particular issue is "Blood of the Innocent" and it is only 40 pages at $3.50 and was supposed to be released on July 30th. I heard there was a delay in printing.

I hope this clarifies the mix up. Thank you
